Peter Steil
Advisory Director


Peter Steil is the Chief Executive Officer of NCREIF, the National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries. NCREIF is a not-for-profit association that serves the needs and requirements of its membership, academic institutions, and the investment community for improved commercial real estate data, performance measurement, investment analysis, information standards, education, and peer group interaction. Its members include investment managers, plan sponsors, academicians, consultants, and others who have a significant involvement in institutional real estate investments. He also serves as an Advisory Director of Prescott Capital Advisors, LLC. In that capacity, he has a senior advisory role supporting Prescott’s real estate investment banking and advisory efforts as well as raising debt and equity capital for Prescott’s principal investments. At Prescott, he has arranged the sale and financing of real estate assets and entities; provided real estate and financial advice to corporate, institutional, and developer clients for both existing properties and planned projects; and advised corporations on the capitalization of corporate real estate assets. He has almost forty years of experience at major financial and real estate investment firms.

Prior to joining Prescott, he was a Managing Director of Wells Hill Partners, a real estate investment banking firm based in New York. Before Wells Hill Partners, he served as a Managing Director of Putnam Lovell Securities, Inc., a specialized investment bank to the financial services industry active in providing mergers and acquisitions advisory and execution services to stock and bond asset management firms. Prior to joining Putnam Lovell, he served in senior positions at several financial firms, including Nesbitt Burns Securities, Inc. and KPMG Baymark Capital, LLC. He also served as a senior executive of Lend Lease International and The RREEF Funds, two of the preeminent real estate investment firms in the U.S. Following business school, he began his career at Morgan Stanley & Co., Inc. Following initial positions in the firm’s corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and international finance areas, he was made a Managing Director of the firm with significant responsibilities as a senior executive of the firm’s real estate unit. He was active in a broad range of financing, corporate advisory, and investment activities, and served as President of Morstan, the vehicle created to invest Morgan Stanley’s capital in the real estate sector in conjunction with significant U.S. and international institutional investors.

Peter Steil received a B.A. degree in Political Science from Stanford University and an M.B.A. degree from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Business Administration. He is an active member of various financial and real estate industry organizations.
